Play Madoc are statistically the BEST non-league team in the whole of the United Kingdom.
The fourth tier side who play in the Welsh National League has won all thirteen of their league fixtures.
Other Welsh sides such as second-tier Penybont who play in the Welsh Football League are 16th, whilst Airbus UK Broughton are 18th.
Up against teams from England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, the Wrexham based side have the best record in the United Kingdom according to Non-League Matters.
Plas Madoc manager Ryan Roberts commented on the clubs achievement: “It’s unbelievable to be in this position. It makes all our hard work seem worthwhile.
“It’s down to a huge team effort on and off the pitch from our sponsors to the dedicated volunteers that help run the club. The coaching staff we have but mainly the incredible team I have at my disposal.
“We have an incredible will to win and an unbelievable team spirit which makes my job easier they are a privilege to manage.”
Joint with the reserve side of Stranraer, Plas Madoc have scored an impressive 77 goals in just thirteen games.
The most scored in the five years of Welsh football. Only Llangollen Town are closest to them in their own division in terms of goals scored and even then they’re 19 goals behind.
Brothers Jamie and Nicky Williams have 41 goals between them, whilst Lee has also been chipping in with a number of goals.
“They are really an incredible bunch of players, they fight for each other every week they listen to whatever the game plan is and great desire to win we celebrate every goal together as a team. I believe there best is still to come.”
Their run of form has secured a number one spot in Division One at Christmas.
Plas Madoc are top despite being relative newcomers to the Division, with continued success in the offering, should they be able to maintain their run of form.
With just over half of the season to play and a six-point gap and three games in hand over Castell Alun Colts, it’s looking good for Roberts side.
“I feel confident, to be honest. We have set our targets we want to achieve which have changed as the season has progressed due to how well we are doing it would pit my lads against a team in any division of the Welsh Division.”
