Pearson brothers reunited at Maesdu Park as Eardley strengthens Seasiders’ squad

Llandudno have confirmed that brothers Mike and Shaun Pearson will be reunited next season, as new manager Sean Eardley continues to build his squad ahead of the new season.

Mike, who is the older brother at 32, is returning for a second spell at Maesdu Park in a player-coach role, having previously played for the club in the 2018-19 season before leaving for Caernarfon Town.

The centre-back, who has appeared in a Cymru Premier Team of the Year in the last decade, and has also played for the Wales C team, will provide invaluable experience to the Seasiders.

Speaking to the club’s website, Eardley said: “I’ve followed Mike’s career for many years and last season was so frustrating as the Cofi Army didn’t see the best of him after he suffered a bad injury early on.

“After speaking with him, there is a determination in his voice and a drive that will make him a key figure in our success.”

Shaun has signed a new deal with the club after arriving from Airbus UK Broughton in 2018.

The goalkeeper, who has also played for Llangefni, Barrow and Colwyn Bay in his career, has been named as the club’s vice-captain for the new season.

“He’s professional in his approach, meticulous in his preparation and his work ethic is one to be envied, and I’m thrilled he’s pulling on the Number 1 jersey for his hometown club for season 2020/21,” said Eardley.

In other transfer news, Tudno’s Cory Williams has moved in the opposite direction to Mike Pearson, with the forward joining Caernarfon Town for a second spell.

In addition, Cofis midfielder Gareth Evans is expected to join Mike Pearson in linking up with his former boss Eardley at Maesdu Park.
