Huw Griffiths’ side ruined Barry Town’s trip up north as they scored two late goals to secure all three points.

Substitutes Jack Kelly and Sam Jones made their impact as they netted goals in the 81st and 86th minute to give the home side the victory

The win puts Caernarfon into the top-six, overtaking Cardiff Met and Haverfodwest.

For the visitors, the loss means they are only three points above fifth-placed Penybont, who have played two games less than Barry.

What a difference a week can make

The Canaries have bounced back superbly following their heavy 6-0 defeat at Penybont last weekend.

Winning midweek and on the weekend, they picked up only their second back-to-back victory this season.

In an inconsistent transitional year, Griffiths will hope these results are a sign of what’s to come.

Noah Edwards impressive

Since signing for the Canaries from Connah’s Quay Nomads in 2018, Noah Edwards has shown signs of becoming a fantastic player.

The midfielder has stepped into the role left by The New Saints’ Leo Smith, offering defensive security as well as the occasional piece of magic in attack.

His composure was clear to see against Barry, coming close to scoring after beating three defenders and forcing goalkeeper Josh Gould to tip the ball over his crossbar.

David Cotterill’s quality is evident

It was interesting to see how David Cotterill would fare against a tough Caernarfon Town at The Oval.

The Euro 2016 Wales squad member played exceptionally well despite the loss.

He came agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock in the second half when his free-kick from range smashed the underside of the crossbar before being cleared.

Substitutes making a difference

Two of Caernarfon’s three substitutes got on the score sheet on Saturday afternoon.

Jack Kenny opened the scoring with ten minutes left as he reacted first to a loose ball in the box and converted.

Attacker Sam Jones doubled the lead five minutes later with an inch-perfect outside of the foot shot into the bottom left corner.
