Bala Town have emerged as one of the busiest clubs in the Cymru North transfer market so far this summer, while Porthmadog, Bangor City and Rhyl have also made significant additions ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The Lakesiders have wasted little time rebuilding their squad following relegation from the Cymru Premier, bringing in a trio of experienced players with proven pedigree at the top level of Welsh football.

Among the headline arrivals is defender Kyle Harrison, who returns to Maes Tegid after spending last season with Caernarfon Town. Harrison played a key role in the Cofis’ historic Welsh Cup triumph, helping them secure a 3-0 victory over Flint Town United in the final at Rodney Parade.

The defender made 44 Cymru Premier appearances during his previous spell with Bala Town and also featured in UEFA Conference League qualifying, making him a significant addition as the club targets an immediate return to the top flight.

Joining Harrison back at Bala is winger Osebi Abadaki, who begins his second spell with the club. The wide man featured 26 times in the Cymru Premier last season across spells with Flint Town United and Caernarfon Town, scoring once against his new club during the campaign.

Bala have also strengthened their midfield options with the signing of Jake Phillips from Flint Town United. The 29-year-old arrives with an impressive creative record, having registered 11 assists in each of the last three seasons. Phillips becomes Bala’s second new arrival of the summer, following the earlier capture of Naim Arsan, underlining the club’s intent ahead of life in the second tier.

Porthmadog Continue Recruitment Following Promotion

Fresh from securing promotion to the Cymru North, Porthmadog have moved quickly to strengthen Chris Jones’ squad.

The Traeth outfit have welcomed back midfielder Tom Mahoney, who previously made 27 appearances for the club across the 2022/23 and 2023/24 campaigns. Mahoney spent the last two-and-a-half seasons with Bangor City, where he became a regular starter and scored three goals during the 2025/26 campaign.

Porthmadog have also made a statement, signing in attack with the arrival of Gwion Dafydd. The experienced forward joins after an impressive season with Denbigh Town, where he contributed seven goals and five assists in the Cymru North.

Dafydd brings a wealth of experience, having previously represented Caernarfon Town, The New Saints and Colwyn Bay. He was instrumental in Colwyn Bay’s Cymru North title-winning campaign, scoring 14 goals as the Seagulls secured promotion.

Bangor City Add Experience at the Back

Bangor City have bolstered their defensive ranks with the signing of veteran centre-back Blaine Hudson following his departure from Airbus UK Broughton.

The 34-year-old was a key figure for Airbus last season, making 25 appearances as they secured promotion to the Cymru Premier. Hudson arrives at Nantporth with extensive experience across both Welsh and English football, having previously featured for Cambridge United, Wrexham, Chester, Welling United and Caernarfon Town.

Guto Williams has also made the move, switching from Holywell Town. He made 26 appearances for the Wellmen last season, and this will be his second spell at Nantporth.

Rhyl Land Proven Goalscorer

Rhyl have continued their summer recruitment with the addition of forward Josh Jones, who departed Flint Town United.

Jones leaves Flint having amassed 105 appearances and contributed 55 goals and assists, establishing himself as one of the club’s most influential attacking players in recent years.

His standout season came during Flint’s 2023/24 Cymru North title-winning campaign, when he scored 24 goals and added five assists to help guide the Silkmen back to the Cymru Premier.

Penrhyncoch Lose Key Attacker to Aberystwyth Town

Penrhyncoch have suffered a significant blow ahead of the new season with the departure of forward Dan Owen, who has completed a move to Cymru South side Aberystwyth Town.

The attacker leaves the Roosters after establishing himself as one of the club’s most influential players in recent seasons, contributing 27 goals and five assists in 77 league appearances during his spell at Cae Baker.

Owen’s performances had not gone unnoticed, with both Aberystwyth Town and Newtown reportedly interested in securing his signature during the January transfer window. However, the forward remained with Penrhyncoch for the remainder of the campaign before finalising his move this summer.

The transfer sees Owen return to familiar surroundings at Park Avenue, having previously progressed through Aberystwyth Town’s academy system before making his name in senior football.
