Cefn Druids have allowed two of their first-team players George Harry and Joe Faux to depart the club on a temporary basis.

Harry has dropped down a division and joined Cymru North outfit Gresford Athletic but Faux will remain in the Cymru Premier with Caernarfon Town.

The 23-year-old has made 11 appearances for the Ancients this season, finding the net on one occasion.

He played for Bangor City, Llandudno, Newtown, and Aberystwyth before joining the Druids this season when Niall McGuinness was manager.

He becomes the Wrexham-based side’s second signing after Charlie Mann was signed from Prestatyn Town.

The Ancients have also allowed winger Faux to leave as he reunites with former boss Huw Griffiths.

Faux was brought to the Welsh shores back in 2019 and has been in Wales since then, playing under him, Stuart Gelling, Bruno Lopes, McGuinness, and Turner.

The 25-year-old has got two goals in 19 appearances for Andy Turner’s side and joins a Canaries squad that are currently seventh in the table.

Gruffydd John, Ryan Williams, and Rob Hughes all commit their futures to The Oval club signing 18-month contracts, whilst former Aberystwyth and Bangor winger Alex Boss has joined.

“I’m really excited to be joining Caernarfon Town,” said the Canadian to the official club website after making the move across North Wales.

“It’s a big club with an amazing fan base. Every time I’ve played at the Oval the atmosphere has been incredible and I can’t wait to get out there again.

“There’s a lot of talent in the squad and a top-six spot still to play for. So I can’t wait to get started and to give my all for the club.”

As well as allowing two players to leave The Rock, the Druids have today confirmed that Andy Turner will remain in charge of the club for the remainder of the season.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Republic of Ireland winger joined the club as Head of Coaching but will now combine his role as first-team manager.

He had been in charge for the last four months after McGuinness’ departure in September.

Since then the team have picked up just two points and sit bottom of the league, 15 points adrift of safety.

“I’m delighted to be given the green light to take the club forward along with a fantastic group of people around me,” he said.

“I will continue to give 110% for the club and supporters, along with the squad we are putting together. Those that know me, know I am a positive person and an eternal optimist, and we go into the rest of the season with a siege mentality and give everything.”
